Pierre van Dijk

Pierre van Dijk (1950)

His life course is certainly not average. He knew from the age of four that he was going to paint and that says something. He was born in Den Bosch, grew up in The Hague and later attended the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and obtained an MO certificate to teach. Some security in an artistic existence is also worth something!

Pierre subsequently designed a light show for the famous band Pink Floyd and moved with his family to the United States in the eighties, where he exhibited with airbrush paintings and taught as an Art professor at Lock Haven University. Developing your own style as an artist is 'trying' and in those American times his preference turned out to be impressionism, which - in his own words - colors life and reveals a world of light. A big challenge. So study again, but now in Europe.

A move to France is inevitable, but first he opens a gallery and studio in Den Bosch, which he runs for 5 years. Then he thinks it's time to go to la douce France. The light and nature there give his paintings something special and his Maison Atelier Pierre subsequently became widely known. Exhibitions in Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Florence and many more will follow soon, but . . . The Netherlands is going to move.
