MODERN DUTCH ART
LOVE FOR ART
'A work of art should tricker my curiosity. A work of art that touches me has a certain nuance. It makes me wonder 'what am I actually looking at?' and then suddenly I see. The artworks sold through Modern Dutch Art are pieces of art that touch me and that I want to look at more often.'
Stefan Koopman, owner Modern Dutch Art
The CoBrA movement exists 75 years this year! Karel Appel, Corneille and other well-known names formed the basis for this innovative art movement. In addition to contemporary artists, Modern Dutch Art has one of the largest collections of CoBrA art by the following artists
Karel Appel | Corneille | Anton Rooskens | Lucebert | Theo Wolvekamp | Jacques Doucet | Carl Henning Pedersen
Martin van Worwegen | Jan te Wierik

Color, shape and movement are the starting points of my work – abstract visual stories with no starting or ending point. Captivating the viewer in color explosions full of energy, tension and contrasts, passing on “joie de vivre” – in compositions that are often based on musical influences. My paintings are a dialogue between static plains on the one hand and the dynamic force of the moving line at the same time. Born in Cologne, graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy (College of Fine Arts and Design, Amsterdam) in 1989. After working for international companies (Ireland, the Netherlands, England and Germany) for the past 30 years, I have been working full-time since the beginning of 2020 -time as a visual artist in studios in the Netherlands, Germany and France.
